What we keep, and why.
Last updated September 5, 2026
ByWilks is a small jewelry business in Utah. We collect what we need to make and send your piece and to answer you when you write to us, and not much else. This page says exactly what that is.
When you order
At checkout we ask for your name, email, phone number, whether you want the piece shipped or picked up, your ring size, and any engraving text or notes. We use these to make the piece, get it to you, and reach you if something about the order needs a conversation.
Payment happens on Square’s own checkout page. Your card number never passes through bywilks.com or anything we run. Square processes the payment under its own privacy policy. We receive a record of the order (what was bought, for how much, and the details above) and keep it for as long as we need to for our own accounts and to help you later with that order.
When you get in touch
The contact form asks for your name, email, a subject, and your message. If you submit a design for review, we also keep the note, the ring size, and the design image you send. We store these so a message is never lost if an email fails, and we email them to ourselves so we see them. We keep them until the conversation is done, and longer only if it turned into an order.
When you design a ring in the Studio
The Studio turns a description you type into artwork. To do that, the text you type is sent to OpenAI, which writes and draws from it. Please do not put anything personal in a description that you would not want a third party to see. A place or a moment is what it needs, not a name or an address. Designs you generate may be saved so that we can engrave the one you choose.
Analytics, only if you say yes
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit, how they got here, and roughly where they are in the world. It tells us whether a page is doing its job. It runs only after you accept it on the banner; until then nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookie is set. Google anonymizes IP addresses, and we have Google’s advertising features turned off.
We also advertise on Instagram and Facebook, and the Meta pixel tells us which of those ads led to a visit or an order. It is loaded on the same terms: only after you accept, never before. It records the pages you open, what you add to the cart, and the total of an order that goes through. It is never told your name, your email, your address, or anything you type into the Studio.
You can change your mind at any time. The button below forgets your choice, clears the analytics cookies, and asks again.
Your cart
What you add to your cart is stored in your own browser, not sent to us, until you check out. Clearing your browser’s site data empties it.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing. The services that touch it, and why:
- Square: payment and the product catalog.
- Netlify: hosts the site and keeps standard, short-lived server logs of requests.
- Supabase: stores orders, messages, and design requests.
- Resend: delivers the emails that tell us you ordered or wrote.
- OpenAI: produces Studio artwork from what you type.
- Google Analytics: page statistics, only with your consent.
- Meta: which of our Instagram and Facebook ads led to a visit or an order, only with your consent.
Your choices
Email us at bywilks.aw@gmail.com to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. We will keep what the law requires us to for a completed sale and remove the rest.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that changes what we collect or who sees it will be called out here rather than buried.
